The Competition

The real thrill of Cowboy Action Shooting is the competition. Shooters compete against the clock as they shoot a series of targets. Typically, stages are set up so the shooter uses two revolvers, a rifle, and a shotgun, changing from one gun to the next until the scenario is completed. An average stage may call for 10 pistol, 10 rifle, and 4 shotgun rounds (these numbers may vary based on the design of the stage).
